In other words, yet another week in which pupils will not learn much.
The official teaching time in a year is almost exactly half the total of days. Weekends, holidays and half-term breaks make up the other half. In addition, many of those days are further lost with "enrichment" acivities, or even whole weeks.
Whilst extracurricular activities have always been useful and welcome in formal education, in the current circumstances there really seems to be too much of it, especially when one sees what they are used for.
You will disagree with me, of course, if you think that things like these are what students should be devoting the little time they spend at school:
